Flooded Member Detection
Without the use of regular flooded member inspection (FMI), or flooded member detection systems, water ingress of subsea structural members resulting from extreme weather conditions or impact to the members would often remain completely undetected.
With many years of experience and knowledge developing ultrasonic testing equipment, Cygnus have developed an excellent alternative to the gamma radiation FMI technique – the Ultrasonic Flooded Member Detector (FMD) system. This ultrasonic testing system can be used by diver or mounted onto a remotely operated underwater vehicle and deployed quickly and effectively by an on-platform dive team or ROV pilot – requiring little specialist expertise.
